Step into a meaningful role serving students across two schools with a focus on both elementary and middle school populations. This contract position places you in a vibrant education setting near the Washington DC area, just 45 minutes south of the city. The start date runs from August 3, 2026, to May 26, 2027, offering a stable, full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week, with daily hours from 8:00am to 3:30pm.
You’ll primarily engage in assessment and consultation, alongside supporting Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP). Occasionally, you may collaborate with social workers to provide counseling services and contribute to the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). With educational diagnosticians assigned to each building, there’s no academic achievement testing required in this role. The district values flexibility, offering a 4/1 hybrid schedule—four days onsite with the option of one remote day per week.
Qualifications:
- Active Virginia Department of Education Certificate required
- Valid Virginia Psychologist License required
- Previous school-based psychology experience preferred
- Experience conducting FBA/BIP assessments and supporting MTSS initiatives
- Comfortable collaborating as part of a multidisciplinary team
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments and deliver consultation services
- Develop and support behavior intervention plans (BIP)
