This opportunity involves supporting K-12 students in a school district near Trussville, AL, serving as a School Psychologist or Psychometrist. The role centers on identifying and addressing the educational, emotional, and behavioral needs of students by conducting evaluations, collaborating with families and educators, and helping to develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).

Key responsibilities include:

  • Administering comprehensive psychological evaluations and assessments based on referrals from teachers and school administrators.
  • Gathering and analyzing student histories including educational, social, and medical backgrounds.
  • Observing and interviewing students within the school environment to inform assessments.
  • Compiling detailed reports to be included in official school records and conducting legally mandated evaluations with corresponding documentation.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support IEP development and implementation.
  • For Psychometrists: administering standardized psychological and neuropsychological tests, scoring and recording results, and identifying any irregularities or issues during testing.
  • Assisting with psychometric research and supporting school staff in completing evaluations required for eligibility determination.

Desired qualifications and experience:

  • Experience working in K-12 educational settings.
  • Knowledge of psychological testing and evaluation procedures.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Understanding of legal and educational policies related to special education services.
  • Previous experience with IEP development and documentation preferred.

Location: Near Trussville, Alabama
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 30 hours per week
Duration: Contract for the current school year
