Step into a dynamic educational environment supporting elementary-aged students as a School Psychologist on a contract basis. In this role, you'll serve two closely situated schools, Aspen Elementary and the School for Young Learners, providing valuable psychological services to students from preschool through fifth grade. This position covers a maternity leave, beginning January 4, 2027, through March 29, 2027, with some flexibility in dates to accommodate the needs of the district and family.
Your expertise will make a meaningful difference as you conduct student evaluations, collaborate with educators and families, and contribute to a supportive learning atmosphere. What we're looking for:
- Valid School Psychologist certification (Illinois).
- Experience working with elementary-aged students, preschool through grade 5.
- Strong assessment, evaluation, and report-writing skills.
- Bilingual Spanish-speaking skills are highly valued, but not required.
- Comfortable working in-person, with openness to some flexibility as needed.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Completing psychoeducational assessments and evaluations.
- Offering direct counseling and support services as appropriate.
- Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop intervention plans.
- Supporting students, teachers, and parents through consultation and advocacy.
- Managing a caseload with an evaluation load that varies by week.
- Transitioning into the role alongside the current psychologist for a smooth handover, if possible.
This contract offers 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with a daily 30-minute lunch. Workdays run from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (3:15 p.m. on Wednesdays).
