Step into an impactful role supporting young learners as a dedicated School Psychologist for a full-time, on-site contract position near Waterbury, CT. This opportunity runs from August 26th through January 1st, offering the chance to work closely with PreK–2nd-grade students, fostering their social, emotional, and behavioral growth.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active Connecticut School Psychologist certification (070) required
  • Previous experience working with early childhood and elementary-aged students is preferred
  • Strong assessment, observation, and counseling skills, particularly for students with social, emotional, or behavioral challenges
  • Proficiency in facilitating PPT and 504 meetings
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner with educators, staff, and families
  • Ability to develop individualized plans and conduct group or one-on-one counseling sessions

Core Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and respond to the clinical needs of students experiencing social, emotional, or behavioral concerns
  • Conduct comprehensive student assessments and targeted observations as needed
  • Create and implement evidence-based therapeutic counseling interventions for individuals and small groups
  • Facilitate all Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, ensuring student-centered support planning
  • Coordinate and lead 504 meetings to ensure appropriate accommodations are in place
  • Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to monitor student progress and adjust supports as necessary
