A dynamic and supportive school district near Waukegan, IL is seeking dedicated contract School Psychologists for the 2026–2027 academic year. Positions are available for both early childhood and K-4 grade levels, with full-time and part-time options. You’ll work Monday to Friday within a collaborative educational setting from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Active license to practice as a School Psychologist in Illinois
- Experience working within elementary, middle, or high school settings
- Strong knowledge of special education law and current best practices
- Ability to conduct re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with families, educators, and assessment teams
- For early childhood position: capacity to travel between multiple preschools in Winnetka
- Commitment to supporting families new to the special education process
Responsibilities:
- Conduct initial and re-evaluations for varied school-age students, ensuring accurate and timely assessments
- Lead or participate in eligibility and re-evaluation meetings, providing clear feedback and recommendations
- For early childhood: screen and evaluate students transitioning from early intervention services, support preschool partners, and attend IEP meetings
- For K-4: facilitate MTSS data team meetings, support the IEP process, and guide teams through problem-solving steps
- Ensure compliance with all special education laws and district policies
- Maintain effective, professional communication with all stakeholders
