Make a meaningful difference in the lives of students by supporting their academic and behavioral success in a contract School Psychologist role located near Waukegan, IL. This full-time opportunity runs from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with schedules available Monday through Friday. Serve a diverse caseload across elementary, middle, and high school settings, primarily focusing on re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, functional behavioral assessments, and some initial evaluations.
Openings include:
- An Early Childhood School Psychologist (0.6 FTE, 3 days a week, traveling between three local preschools) tasked with screenings and evaluations for children transitioning from early intervention, supporting families new to special education, and attending IEP meetings.
- A Grades K-4 School Psychologist (1.0 FTE, 5 days a week) responsible for evaluations, facilitating MTSS data team meetings, collaborating in the IEP process, and supporting problem-solving for student success.
What we’re looking for:
- Active School Psychologist license in the state of Illinois
- Prior school-based experience (elementary, middle, or high school preferred)
- Strong communication skills, especially with families and multidisciplinary teams
- Expertise in special education law and best practices for evaluations
- Comfort conducting assessments, leading IEP meetings, and facilitating eligibility/re-evaluation discussions
- Willingness to travel between school locations for Early Childhood position
- Commitment to ethical practice and fostering inclusive environments
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive student evaluations and re-evaluations
- Complete functional behavioral assessments as needed
- Lead and participate in IEP meetings and data team sessions
- Offer support, guidance, and clear communication to families and staff
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support teams across grade levels
