Step into a vital role supporting students' educational journeys as a full-time school psychologist for the 26/27 school year. This contract position offers the chance to work in a dynamic academic environment for 37.5 hours per week, serving a K-12 caseload with a strong likelihood of focusing primarily on elementary-aged students.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia state Psychologist License required
  • Previous experience in a school-based setting is preferred
  • Strong assessment, counseling, and consultation skills
  • Ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing behavior intervention plans
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychoeducational assessments
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and monitor IEPs and 504 plans
  • Provide direct counseling services, both individual and group, to support students' mental health
  • Consult with teachers, administrators, and families to address academic and behavioral challenges
  • Participate actively in problem-solving and intervention teams
  • Contribute to the creation of safe, inclusive, and supportive school climates
  • Document services and maintain student records in accordance with state and district guidelines
