This full-time contract opportunity for experienced School Psychologists spans from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, covering assignment options in early childhood as well as K-4. You’ll collaborate with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams to provide essential evaluations, facilitate key meetings, and guide best practices within a supportive educational environment.
Openings include:
- Early Childhood School Psychologist (0.6 FTE, 3 days a week): Conduct student screenings and evaluations for children transitioning from early intervention (age 3) and preschoolers up to age 5. This role involves travel among three preschools, serving families and teams who may be new to special education. Attend IEP meetings and provide clear, compassionate communication to all stakeholders.
- K-4 School Psychologist (1.0 FTE, 5 days a week): Responsible for comprehensive evaluations, facilitating MTSS data team meetings, supporting IEP processes, and helping problem-solve in grades K-4. Strong communication skills and expertise in special education law are essential.
Desired qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist license in Illinois
- Experience across elementary, middle, and high school settings preferred
- Deep knowledge of special education law and evaluation practices (early childhood and/or K-4)
- Strong facilitation and family communication skills
- Ability to travel between locations as required (for early childhood position)
- Professionalism in team collaboration and documentation
Key responsibilities:
- Conduct re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments
- Perform initial student evaluations
- Guide teams through the IEP process, facilitate meetings, and offer consultative support
- Foster positive relationships with families and educators
