Make a meaningful impact in local schools by supporting students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional growth as a contracted School Psychologist for the 2026-2027 school year. Work full-time from August 26, 2026, through June 11, 2027, within a collaborative, student-centered environment serving elementary, middle, and high school populations.

This assignment features opportunities in both early childhood and K-4 settings:

  • Early Childhood (0.6 FTE, 3 days/week): Travel between local preschools to screen and evaluate students ages 3-5 transitioning from early intervention, as well as students referred for evaluation. Successful candidates will collaborate closely with families new to special education, preschool partners, and team members. Attendance at IEP meetings and strong communication are essential.
  • K-4 Elementary (1.0 FTE, 5 days/week): Responsible for student evaluations, facilitating MTSS data team meetings, supporting IEP processes, and problem-solving with staff and families. Strong communication and expertise in special education law are required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid School Psychologist license in Illinois
  • Experience with evaluations, re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, and functional behavioral assessments
  • Familiarity with special education law, particularly related to early childhood
  • Ability to travel locally between school sites (for early childhood role)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for IEP meetings and parent collaboration
  • Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive school environments

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial and re-evaluations for student eligibility
  • Lead and participate in IEP meetings
  • Engage with MTSS problem-solving teams (for K-4 role)
  • Maintain clear, compassionate partnerships with families and educational teams
  • Deliver functional behavioral assessments and recommendations
