Key Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist license in the state of Illinois
- Experience conducting evaluations, re-evaluation reviews, and functional behavioral assessments
- Expertise in special education law, especially within early childhood or K-4 settings
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage effectively with students, families, educators, and team members
- Ability to travel locally between schools and preschool locations, especially for the early childhood role
- Commitment to clear and sensitive communication with families, many of whom may be new to special education processes
Role Responsibilities:
- Conduct re-evaluation reviews, eligibility meetings, initial evaluations, and functional behavioral assessments across a range of grade levels
- Collaborate with teams to support the IEP process, facilitate MTSS data team meetings, and participate in problem-solving discussions
- For the early childhood-focused role: screen and evaluate students transitioning from early intervention, including regular travel between preschool sites
- Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, ensuring compliance with best practices and legal standards
- Maintain detailed documentation and uphold confidentiality at all times
