School Psychologist - Yorktown, VA

This contract opportunity offers a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week, focusing primarily on an elementary caseload, with the possibility of engaging with students across other grade levels as needed.

As a school psychologist, your expertise in assessment, consultation, and intervention will empower students to reach their full potential. Your work will directly contribute to fostering a positive school climate and supporting academic and emotional growth for children.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Active and valid Virginia State Psychologist License
• Previous experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Solid foundation in behavioral and academic assessments
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, administrators, and families
• Strong skills in developing and implementing evidence-based interventions
• Flexibility to work across elementary and potentially other grade levels (K-12)
• Exceptional communication and organizational abilities

Responsibilities:

• Conduct psycho-educational assessments for students referred for academic, social, or behavioral concerns
• Collaborate with educational teams to create supportive learning environments
• Develop and monitor individualized education and behavioral intervention plans
• Consult with families and school staff to promote student achievement
• Lead small group or individual counseling sessions, as needed
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation in compliance with school and state guidelines
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on eligibility and placement decisions
