Step into a dynamic and rewarding role supporting students across multiple school sites as a dedicated school psychologist. In this contract position, you’ll be integral in providing educational assessments and guidance, helping students from kindergarten through 12th grade reach their full potential. The district values multidisciplinary teamwork, and you’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and other professionals to foster positive outcomes for children and youth.

Key qualifications and desired experience:

  • Valid Louisiana Department of Education certification in School Psychology.
  • Demonstrated experience in psychoeducational evaluations, IDEA compliance, and interpreting assessment data.
  • Skilled in writing comprehensive evaluation reports and communicating results clearly to parents, teachers, and school teams.
  • Strong knowledge of special education eligibility criteria and multidisciplinary processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to ensure evaluation timelines and program accountability.
  • Successful collaboration with educational diagnosticians, social workers, speech-language pathologists, and school administrators.
  • Bilingual abilities are a plus!

In this part-time, onsite role (29 hours per week, with a hybrid option possible), responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough educational assessments and submitting timely written reports.
  • Working directly with students and families, offering support and referring to relevant community resources.
  • Consulting with teachers, administrators, and parents on interventions and strategies tailored to student needs.
  • Maintaining detailed case records and participating in professional development.
  • Explaining assessment processes and results to school personnel and families with clarity and compassion.

The assignment covers PK–12 students across multiple campuses. The contract begins with a few professional development days in late July and runs through May, making it a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful, lasting impact.
