An exciting contract position is available for a dedicated School Psychologist eager to make a meaningful difference in the lives of K-12 students. This opportunity spans multiple school sites and focuses on supporting discipline requests, providing comprehensive psychoeducational assessments, and collaborating within an engaged multidisciplinary team environment. The assignment operates on a 29-hour work week, from August 18, 2026, through May 24, 2027.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid NASP certification or LSSP from the Louisiana State Board of Examiners and Psychologists required
- Previous experience conducting psychoeducational evaluations and interpreting assessment data
- Strong report writing skills, with knowledge of IDEA compliance and special education eligibility criteria
- Excellent communication skills for sharing results with families, school staff, and multidisciplinary team members
- Well-developed organizational and time-management abilities to uphold evaluation timelines and documentation standards
- Experience collaborating with professionals such as educational diagnosticians, social workers, SLPs, and administrators
- Bilingual skills are highly valued
- Must complete a district background check and fingerprinting
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as an integral member of assessment teams, providing timely written evaluations for students
- Consult with parents, educators, and administrators regarding assessments, interventions, and student needs
- Participate in interpreting test results and assist in planning individualized student programs
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation for accountability and program continuity
- Connect students and families with community resources and provide direct educational support as needed
- Offer in-service training for school personnel and parents on assessment processes and interventions
- Clearly explain evaluation procedures and findings to all stakeholders
