This rewarding contract position offers you the chance to support students across various sites in Frederick County through the 2024-2025 academic year, from August 19th to June 4th.

As an Art Therapist working onsite, you will collaborate closely with a caseload of 15 students, using your skills to provide therapeutic art interventions that foster emotional and academic growth. Your schedule offers part-time hours (20 hours per week, 8am–4pm), giving you the flexibility to maintain work-life balance throughout the school year.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Active state licensure as an Art Therapist through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
  • Experience working in schools or with children and adolescents in therapeutic settings
  • Ability to develop individualized and group art therapy activities suited to student needs
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to liaise effectively with educators, families, and related services staff
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver art therapy services onsite to a caseload of 15 students at various district locations
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy plans in collaboration with school teams
  • Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and required documentation
  • Monitor and report student progress, adjusting interventions as needed
  • Participate in school meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary teams
