You'll work directly on campus, providing essential support and interventions as part of multidisciplinary teams across multiple school sites.
What you’ll need to succeed:
- National Certification as a Music Therapist
- Specialized knowledge of music therapy procedures, strategies, and equipment
- Demonstrated experience working with students with disabilities, including autism and other developmental differences
- Strong skills in assessment protocols and documentation related to IEPs
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication abilities
- Flexibility to travel between campuses and adapt to itinerant scheduling
- Willingness to participate in professional development and adhere to district policies
- District fingerprinting clearance (or ability to obtain)
Your impact will include:
- Delivering tailored individual and group music therapy sessions within school settings
- Assessing students’ needs and determining eligibility for services
- Collaborating with ARD committees, developing IEP goals, and interpreting assessment results
- Consulting with educational teams and parents to maximize support for students
- Providing in-service training to help school personnel understand music therapy programs
- Developing, coordinating, and evaluating program progress and effectiveness
- Maintaining compliance with reports, records, and legal requirements
- Creating learning environments suited to students’ developmental levels and unique needs
- Performing other duties as assigned for holistic student support
