This part-time contract position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference across various sites in the district. From August 19th through June 4th, you’ll work onsite, directly impacting the lives of students through art therapy interventions.

Key Qualifications:

  • State Licensure required through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
  • Certification or degree in Art Therapy or relevant field
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children in an educational or therapeutic setting
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and families
  • Commitment to maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct individual and group art therapy sessions for a caseload of up to 15 students
  • Collaborate with educators, school psychologists, and families to develop and implement student therapy plans
  • Assess student progress, provide necessary documentation, and maintain detailed records
  • Contribute to ongoing professional development and stay current with best practices in art therapy
  • Serve as a resource for the school community regarding the benefits of art-based interventions
