School Therapist - New Market, Maryland

Bring your creativity and passion to an impactful part-time opportunity supporting students in Frederick County! As an Art Therapist working throughout various locations in the district, you’ll help a small caseload of 15 students thrive emotionally and academically. Your work will contribute to a positive, supportive learning environment for the 2024-2025 school year, with the contract running from August 19th through June 4th.

Experience a flexible schedule, working 20 hours weekly between 8am and 4pm, onsite only. Your expertise will play a key role in fostering resilience and wellness through intentional, creative interventions.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current state licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists
• Background providing art therapy within a school or youth-oriented setting
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, collaborative approach
• Ability to work independently across multiple school sites
• Flexible, organized, and motivated to facilitate individualized support sessions

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop art therapy plans tailored to each student’s needs
• Deliver one-on-one and small group art therapy sessions
• Collaborate closely with educators, counselors, and student support teams
• Track progress, document sessions, and maintain confidentiality
• Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive school climate
