This part-time school-based Art Therapist position offers an engaging opportunity to work with a small, diverse caseload across multiple sites near North Hollywood, CA. The contract period runs from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, and is ideal for professionals who are passionate about combining creative arts with school therapy and flexible scheduling.
Key Qualifications:
- Certification from one of the following is required: California Board of Recreation and Park Certification, National Council for Therapeutic Recreation, or National Recreation and Park Association (for recreation or therapeutic recreation services).
- Proven experience working as a school therapist or art therapist, preferably in educational settings.
- Ability to effectively support students with varied needs using creative and therapeutic approaches.
- Comfortable with a part-time schedule of approximately 5-10 hours per week and traveling to different school sites as needed.
- Skilled in conducting student assessments, developing individualized plans, and participating in annual IEP meetings.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with other professionals, students, and families.
- Applicants able and interested in virtual/remote (VOCO) service delivery are encouraged to apply and will be considered for marketable assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Provide art therapy sessions to a caseload of four students, adjusting session lengths to individual student needs (ranging from 30–85 minutes weekly).
- Develop, implement, and monitor therapy goals tailored to each student’s developmental and educational objectives.
- Complete necessary assessments and contribute to the IEP process by attending annual meetings and collaborating with school staff.
- Maintain clear and accurate documentation for each session and progress report.
