This part-time, on-site opportunity near Richmond, TX, starts at 20 hours per week, with anticipated growth as Bright Futures Academy expands. Key Qualifications & Experience

  • National certification as a Music Therapist (required)
  • Experience delivering school-based music therapy, including group and individual interventions
  • Strong knowledge of strategies, assessment protocols, and adaptive equipment used in music therapy
  • Proficiency in supporting IEP goals, interventions for students with autism and developmental disabilities
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Previous exposure to ARD committees and progress monitoring preferred
  • Ability to consult effectively with staff and parents; confidence leading staff development sessions
  • Meets all credentialing requirements, including district fingerprinting procedures

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Provide individualized and/or group music therapy within a campus setting
  • Evaluate student progress, design adaptive materials, and assist with equipment selection
  • Assess students for eligibility and contribute to IEP development and ARD committee meetings
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student achievement
  • Create supportive, positive environments for student growth
  • Maintain necessary documentation, reports, and records
  • Ensure program compliance with educational laws, policies, and district guidelines
  • Seek out and participate in professional development to enhance skills
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and fulfill other assigned duties
