Key Qualifications:
- Certification as a Nationally Board-Certified Music Therapist.
- Experience working in a school setting or with children with disabilities, including autism and other developmental needs.
- Strong grasp of assessment protocols, adaptive equipment, and IEP compliance.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to design and document services and progress for both individuals and groups.
- Comfort with providing staff development and training.
- Willingness to complete required fingerprinting and district credentialing.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess students to determine their eligibility for music therapy and develop comprehensive service schedules.
- Tailor music therapy programs aligned with student IEPs and campus needs, providing both individual and group interventions.
- Participate in ARD Committee meetings, supporting data interpretation and goal setting.
- Consult and collaborate with education staff and parents to maximize students’ success.
- Design and implement adaptive musical materials and supports, fostering an inclusive learning environment.
- Cultivate positive relationships while maintaining thorough documentation and compliance with all legal and district requirements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to music therapy in educational settings.
