Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Current certification or licensure as a Recreational Therapist (CTRS or state equivalent)
• Experience working in school, pediatric, or similar settings preferred
• Knowledge of group and individual therapeutic techniques tailored for children and adolescents
• Ability to collaborate with school staff, teachers, counselors, and families
• Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement innovative recreational therapy interventions for students with diverse needs
• Assess students’ abilities, set measurable goals, and track progress
• Utilize arts, sports, games, and play-based strategies to support students’ development
• Collaborate with school personnel to integrate therapeutic activities into the educational program
• Maintain thorough documentation of interventions, progress notes, and outcomes in compliance with school policies
• Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings when appropriate
