This part-time opportunity, conveniently located near Simi Valley, CA, allows you to serve a diverse student population across multiple school sites. Contribute your passion and expertise over approximately 5-10 hours per week, working with students who will benefit from your therapeutic guidance during the school year, beginning August 12, 2026, and concluding June 4, 2027.
Your role will focus on delivering targeted therapy to a small caseload, providing tailored support that fosters growth and resilience through art and recreation therapy. Remote/VOCO candidates are welcome for this specialized position.
Qualifications:
- Hold one of the following:
- California Board of Recreation and Park Certification
- National Council for Therapeutic Recreation certificate
- National Recreation and Park Association certification for recreation or therapeutic recreation
- Experience with children or adolescents in a school setting is highly valued
- Strong assessment and communication abilities
- Commitment to collaboration and supporting IEP goals
Responsibilities:
- Deliver weekly therapy sessions for four students (varied duration per student/site)
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor student progress
- Attend annual IEP meetings to provide input and support team planning
- Document services and maintain clear, timely records in accordance with school and regulatory standards
