Step into a specialized role supporting students as a school-based therapist for the 2026-2027 academic year. This part-time contract position gives you the flexibility to make a real impact, working approximately 5-10 hours per week with a diverse group of four students across multiple school sites. Your expertise will shape individualized therapeutic recreational services and guide students to more adaptive, fulfilling school experiences.
Key Qualifications:
- Hold one of the following certifications:
- Certificate from the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification,
- Certificate from the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation,
- Certification from the National Recreation and Park Association covering recreation or therapeutic recreation.
- Experience working with children or adolescents in an educational, therapeutic, or recreational setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, especially for managing multiple sites and collaborating effectively during IEP meetings.
- Comfort with virtual (VOCO) therapy delivery and skill market platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide weekly individual sessions for four students, tailoring approaches to their unique needs (sessions range from 30-85 minutes).
- Conduct thorough assessments to inform individualized goals and strategies.
- Participate in annual IEP meetings and coordinate with educational teams and families to support student progress.
- Document progress and session outcomes with attention to detail and compliance standards.
- Embrace a flexible schedule across August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027.
