The assignment begins August 11, 2026, running through May 26, 2027, with 15–20 hours per week.
Key Qualifications:
- National certification as a Music Therapist required
- Experience working with students with autism and developmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Proficient in conducting assessments and determining eligibility for music therapy services
- Skilled in developing IEP goals and complying with IEP requirements
- Strong abilities in program evaluation and effective consultation with educators and parents
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Familiarity with adaptive musical equipment and creative therapy solutions
- District fingerprinting (unless already completed) required prior to start
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver individual and group music therapy services within school campuses
- Design student-centered therapy schedules, maintaining compliance with campus and IEP expectations
- Assess and document student progress, adapting therapeutic interventions as needed
- Participate in Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committees to interpret assessment data and set IEP goals
- Provide consultative support and staff development to school personnel regarding music therapy
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to enhance student achievement
- Ensure a positive, developmentally-appropriate environment supporting student learning
- Manage program evaluations, adapt resources, and maintain required documentation in compliance with policies and laws
