School Therapist - Sykesville, MD

Make a difference by supporting students’ growth and creativity in a school-based Art Therapist role. You’ll provide targeted therapeutic services for a small caseload at various sites within a dynamic district. Key Qualifications:

• Active State Licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (required)
• Previous experience working as an Art Therapist or School Therapist is highly valued
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with school staff, students, and families
• Ability to adapt creative interventions to meet individual student needs
• Familiarity with IEP or 504 plan processes is a plus

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver art therapy sessions to a caseload of approximately 15 students, supporting emotional regulation, self-expression, and coping skills
• Work onsite across assigned school district locations, Monday through Friday within 8am-4pm (20 hours weekly, part-time)
• Assess student needs, develop treatment goals, and document progress
• Collaborate with educators, administrators, and parents to integrate therapy goals within the school environment
• Participate in team meetings and provide consultation as needed
