Bring your expertise as an Art Therapist to an engaging contract opportunity in Frederick County, MD! This part-time position is ideal for a professional passionate about supporting student wellness and expression through creative therapeutic techniques in a school setting.

You’ll work onsite at various school locations across the county, providing critical support for a caseload of 15 students from August 19th through June 4th. Enjoy a consistent schedule of 20 hours per week, working between 8am and 4pm.

Desired Qualifications:

  • State licensure through the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists is required
  • Experience as a School Therapist and/or Art Therapist, particularly within educational environments
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and parents to support student progress
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to ethical, student-centered therapeutic practice

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individual and small group art therapy sessions to students, fostering emotional expression and growth
  • Assess students’ progress, maintaining clear and confidential records
  • Develop and implement customized treatment plans tailored to each student’s needs
  • Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to integrate therapeutic strategies within students’ educational plans
  • Provide consultative support to educators and families regarding art therapy interventions and progress
