Seeking a skilled Sign Language Interpreter to support communication needs within educational settings. This role requires proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to facilitate clear and effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their teachers or peers.

Location: Absecon, NJ (with travel required to various school sites)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and professional sign language interpretation during classroom instruction and school events.
  • Facilitate communication between students, staff, and families to ensure inclusivity.
  • Adapt to a variety of educational settings and student needs.
  • Collaborate with educators to support Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) as necessary.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards within all assignments.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpretation techniques.
  • Experience working in school environments or with children preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility to travel to multiple school locations as required.
  • Strong understanding of educational terminology and policies.
