Key Qualifications:
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and exceptional interpreting skills
- Prior experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings
- Recommended minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or above
- Ability to adapt to classroom environments and provide age-appropriate support
- Strong collaboration and communication abilities
- Reliability and professionalism in supporting diverse learners
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide sign language interpretation for an elementary student throughout the school day
- Assist in classroom instruction, facilitating clear communication between students, teachers, and peers
- Adapt interpreting methods to meet students’ individual needs
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with staff to develop effective strategies
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with school and district guidelines
