Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Alma, Arkansas

Make a significant impact in the educational journey of a middle school student as a dedicated Sign Language Interpreter. This is a contract opportunity starting as soon as possible and continuing through late May, with a full-time schedule of 37.5 hours per week. In this highly rewarding setting, you'll provide essential support to a student in an onsite, one-on-one environment, ensuring they are engaged and connected in the classroom and throughout their school day.

Qualifications & Experience Desired:

• Active State Interpreter License (ASL required; Spanish proficiency preferred; MSL is a plus)
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational or school settings
• Comfort and competence working directly with middle school-aged students
• Strong preference for candidates who are bilingual (ASL/Spanish)
• Ability to collaborate professionally with educators and staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction and discussions, providing clear and accurate communication between the student and school personnel
• Facilitate communication for the student in all educational settings, adapting interpreting style as needed
• Foster an inclusive environment by supporting the student's social and academic development
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional standards of conduct
• Collaborate with teachers, support staff, and administration to ensure student success
