Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia Department of Education (GA DOE) Sign Language Interpreter license (must meet licensing requirements—HR waiver not available)
  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and student advocacy
  • Ability to work collaboratively as both a dedicated 1:1 interpreter and in a floating capacity as needs arise

Position Details:

  • Onsite, school-based assignment providing 1:1 interpreting services
  • Split schedule: Part-time at Alliance Academy, remaining hours supporting students across other locations as needed
  • Full-time hours available within a flexible, contract structure
  • Immediate start date, with assignment running through May 27, 2027
  • Engage with students, teachers, and staff to facilitate effective communication and ensure equitable learning experiences

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clear, accurate sign language interpretation for students in the classroom and school activities
  • Collaborate with educational teams to support each student’s unique learning plan
  • Uphold district and ethical standards for confidentiality and student care
  • Foster positive, inclusive relationships with all stakeholders
