Desired Qualifications:

  • National certification or state credential as a Sign Language Interpreter (EIPA, RID, NIC, or equivalent)
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
  • Experience interpreting in educational settings preferred
  • Ability to facilitate communication between students, staff, and parents
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide sign language interpretation for students and staff in classroom and school activities
  • Foster access to inclusive education for deaf and hard-of-hearing students
  • Accurately convey spoken information into ASL and vice versa
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and school events as needed
