Key Qualifications:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience interpreting in school settings highly preferred
• Ability to interpret with clarity, impartiality, and confidentiality
• Familiarity with educational terminology and classroom environments
• Collaborative, professional, and attentive to the needs of students and staff

Primary Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and meetings between students and staff
• Facilitate communication between students who are Deaf or hard of hearing and their hearing peers and teachers
• Partner with teachers and other school professionals to support students’ learning objectives
• Effectively translate lesson content, instructions, questions, and responses in real time
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpretation within educational settings
• Assist with additional school activities and events as needed
