Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students as a skilled Sign Language Interpreter in the Apopka, FL area. This on-site, full-time contract position begins August 10, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week (eight hours per day with a 30-minute unpaid break). As a vital member of the school community, you'll work 1:1 with a student, ensuring access to communication and fostering academic success through exceptional interpreting services.

Qualifications & Experience Sought:

  • Eligibility to interpret in an educational setting, meeting district standards
  • EIPA Level 3 or above OR
  • Current RID credentials: NIC, NAD, or Educational Certificate (K-12 or OTC)
  • Experience working with children or adolescents in school environments preferred

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and confidential interpretation services for a designated student, ensuring clear communication between the student, teachers, and peers
  • Work collaboratively with educational teams to support classroom and extracurricular activities
  • Adhere to ethical standards and best practices in interpreter services for the Deaf and hard-of-hearing
  • Maintain detailed records as needed and support completion of required district forms
  • Participate fully in onboarding and training, including timely submission of credentialing materials
