Openings include:

• Middle school, Deaf and Hard of Hearing program (Cary, IL): Full-time, 35 hours/week, through 5/21/27.
• Elementary mainstream (St. Charles, IL): Full-time, 35 hours/week, through 5/30/27.
• Elementary, self-contained classroom (Oswego, IL): Full-time, 35 hours/week, through 5/30/27.

Qualifications:

• Minimum score of 3.5 EIPA with valid ISBE certification, or a 3.0+ EIPA plus IBSE approval.
• Previous experience in school-based or educational interpreting is strongly preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of American Sign Language and effective interpreting strategies for academic environments.
• Ability to work collaboratively with classroom teachers, related service providers, and educational staff.
• Strong communication skills, reliability, and a commitment to supporting students’ diverse communication needs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide interpreting services for Deaf or Hard of Hearing students in classroom and school settings.
• Facilitate communication between students, peers, staff, and faculty.
• Support student access to curriculum, activities, and social interactions.
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborate with educational teams to create a supportive, accessible learning environment.
