Make a meaningful impact supporting an elementary student as an on-site Sign Language Interpreter. This rewarding contract position focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 support within a positive school environment conveniently located near Arvada, CO. You'll collaborate with educators and staff to foster an inclusive, accessible learning experience for a single student, ensuring clear communication and participation throughout the school year.
Qualifications:
- Valid certification as a Sign Language Interpreter
- EIPA score of 4.0 or higher required
- Experience working with elementary-aged students is preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries in a school setting
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to providing in-person support for the duration of the contract
- Strong understanding of deaf culture and best practices in educational interpreting
Responsibilities:
- Deliver accurate, culturally appropriate sign language interpretation for an elementary-age student in all classroom and school activities
- Support effective communication between the student, teachers, and peers
- Adapt interpreting methods to meet the individual needs of the student in various academic and social settings
- Collaborate with teachers and school staff to support student engagement and development
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation as required by the school
- Demonstrate professionalism and flexibility in managing daily assignments within the educational environment
This on-site, contract opportunity runs from August 6, 2026, through May 27, 2027, offering a steady weekly schedule of 37.5 hours. You'll be a valued resource, making a real difference in a child’s educational journey.
