Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Arvada, Colorado

This full-time, full-school-year, onsite role serves learners across multiple school sites, providing interpretive services within both Special Education (SPED) and General Education environments, ranging from mild to severe needs. The position is itinerant, allowing you to work with diverse student populations and directly impact their educational journey.

To thrive in this role, you must be authorized in the state and meet stringent certification requirements, ensuring the highest quality of interpretive support for students and staff alike.

Qualifications:

• Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Authorization for Educational Sign Language Interpreters
• Minimum EIPA score of 3.5 or higher
• Proficiency in both receptive and expressive interpreting for K-12 settings
• Ability to travel between school sites as an itinerant interpreter
• Experience supporting students with a range of abilities, from mild to severe needs, in both SPED and General Education classrooms
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills, partnering effectively with teachers, specialists, and administrators

Responsibilities:

• Provide clear, accurate sign language interpretation for students, staff, and families during instructional and school-related activities
• Adapt interpreting approach to meet individual student communication preferences and needs
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all aspects of work
• Support student engagement by fostering an inclusive classroom environment
• Travel between multiple school sites as needed based on caseload
