This full-time, full-school-year, onsite contract position offers the opportunity to serve as an itinerant interpreter, supporting learners with a range of needs—mild to severe—across multiple school sites near Arvada, CO.
Your proficiency will be instrumental in helping students fully engage in classroom activities and school life. As part of this role, you’ll be collaborating with staff, families, and teams to ensure that educational goals are met for each student you support.
What we’re looking for:
- Valid Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Authorization for Educational Sign Language Interpreters
- EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or above
- Proven experience interpreting in K-12 school settings, especially with both SPED and general education populations
- Flexibility to travel between multiple locations (itinerant role)
- Ability to adapt interpreting techniques to serve students with mild to severe needs
- Professionalism, reliability, and strong interpersonal skills
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing sign language interpretation for students and staff in a variety of classroom and school settings
- Supporting access to instruction, classroom discussion, assemblies, and extracurricular activities
- Collaborating with educators and related service teams to support individualized student goals
- Maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards
- Adhering to district and state guidelines
