Multiple positions are available to serve a diverse caseload, providing vital access to education for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. This full-time role spans from August 24, 2026, through June 11, 2027, with placements available in the scenic Southern Oregon region.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Oregon Sign Language Interpreter Certification/Licensure required
- Demonstrated experience interpreting in educational environments, preferably K-12
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with Deaf culture
- Strong collaboration skills for working closely with general and special education staff
- Commitment to on-site service; remote or hybrid options are not available
- Ability to adapt communication style for a variety of age groups and instructional settings
Core Responsibilities:
- Deliver clear, accurate interpretation for students, teachers, and school personnel in classrooms and campus activities
- Support comprehension and participation by adapting interpretation to the student’s developmental stage
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards specific to educational interpreting
- Foster an inclusive and accessible learning environment in collaboration with educators
- Actively participate in meetings and professional development sessions as needed
