Step into a vital role supporting student success in a dynamic high school setting! We’re seeking a skilled and dedicated Sign Language Interpreter to provide 1:1 interpreting for a high school freshman throughout the upcoming school year. This full-time, contract position offers the rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact, working closely with faculty and staff to ensure accessible communication for your assigned student.

The school year begins August 5th, and this assignment will span the full academic year. The role is based near Atlanta, GA, requiring on-site presence in Douglasville.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 3.5 EIPA score required
  • Experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
  • Must hold, or be willing to obtain, the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) interpreter licensure before start date
  • Demonstrated ability to establish rapport with high school students
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Professionalism, reliability, and a team-oriented attitude

Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate and effective 1:1 interpreting services for a high school freshman throughout all school day activities
  • Facilitate clear communication between student, peers, and staff
  • Adapt interpreting techniques to support varied classroom environments and learning situations
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards of interpreting
  • Collaborate with teachers and support staff to promote optimal learning
  • Attend required training and professional development as needed
