Make a difference every day by providing essential communication support to students in educational settings as a Sign Language Interpreter. This contract opportunity is located just 20 minutes south of Atlanta and offers the chance to work in both elementary and high school environments. We are seeking two skilled interpreters to work 40 hours per week, ensuring full-time, consistent support within the school community.

You’ll collaborate closely with students, teachers, and staff, playing a vital role in facilitating learning and building accessible classroom experiences. If you have a passion for bridging communication and creating inclusive educational spaces, this role will be a great fit.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Hold a minimum EIPA score of 3.5
  • Eligible for the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) Educational Interpreter Certificate
  • Previous experience supporting students in K-12 settings is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and comfortable interpreting for various age groups, specifically elementary and high school students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, clear sign language interpretation in classrooms and around campus
  • Support direct communication between students, teachers, and peers
  • Adapt interpreting techniques according to each student’s needs and classroom context
  • Collaborate with educators and staff to support individualized educational plans
  • Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical standards in all assignments
