Qualifications and Experience Desired:

  • Current credentials: EIPA 4.0+ or RID certification required
  • Experience supporting students in school environments preferred
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting for Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing individuals
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and inclusion
  • Collaborative, proactive communicator
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic setting

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide accurate, effective sign language interpreting for a single student throughout the school day
  • Facilitate clear, accessible communication between the student, staff, and peers
  • Prepare for classroom content in advance to ensure effective interpreting
  • Collaborate with special education and general education teams to uphold student success
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
  • Respond adaptively to the student’s ongoing communication and access needs
