What we’re looking for:

• Skilled in American Sign Language with demonstrated proficiency
• EPIA score of 3.5 or above (required)
• Prior experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools or educational environments preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other interpreters
• Commitment to professional ethics, confidentiality, and promoting equal access to education

Key responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa for students, staff, and parents during classes and school activities
• Support students’ understanding by accurately conveying classroom instruction, discussions, and social interactions
• Assist in developing communication strategies that ensure student engagement and participation
• Collaborate with educational teams to meet each student’s individual needs
• Maintain accurate records of services provided as required by the educational setting
• Participate in meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities
