Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Aurora, CO

Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary-age students as a Sign Language Interpreter. Located near Aurora, CO, this in-person position offers the chance to foster meaningful communication and empower students on a daily basis. You’ll work closely with one student throughout the academic year, providing essential interpretive services within a supportive school environment.

Key Qualifications:

• Hold a valid EIPA score of 4.0 or higher
• Demonstrated experience in educational settings, preferably with elementary-age children
• Skilled at American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation, with a focus on accurately conveying classroom information and social cues
• Professionalism, reliability, and adaptability in a school setting
• Open to on-site work only; remote options are not considered for this role

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver 1:1 sign language interpretation for an elementary student during school hours
• Facilitate effective communication between the student, teachers, peers, and staff
• Support the student’s participation in classroom activities, ensuring access to curriculum and inclusion
• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa, adapting to the student’s individual needs
• Collaborate with educational teams to support the student’s academic and social development
• Maintain confidentiality, accuracy, and professional boundaries at all times
