Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Authorization for educational sign language interpreting (requirement—must be completed prior to start)
- Minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher
- Experience serving both Special Education and General Education student populations
- Strong proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture
- Ability to adapt quickly and work independently across multiple school sites
- Enthusiasm for collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, administrators, and related service providers
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and school-related activities for students and staff
- Facilitate clear and effective communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
- Implement interpreting strategies tailored to a variety of academic content and student needs
- Communicate regularly with education teams to support student progress
- Encourage independence and self-advocacy among students
