Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Aurora, Colorado

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid CDE (Colorado Department of Education) Authorization for educational sign language interpreting (requirement—must be completed prior to start)
• Minimum EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher
• Experience serving both Special Education and General Education student populations
• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language and knowledge of Deaf culture
• Ability to adapt quickly and work independently across multiple school sites
• Enthusiasm for collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including teachers, administrators, and related service providers

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, assemblies, and school-related activities for students and staff
• Facilitate clear and effective communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff
• Implement interpreting strategies tailored to a variety of academic content and student needs
• Communicate regularly with education teams to support student progress
• Encourage independence and self-advocacy among students
