Soliant Education is seeking three full-time Educational ASL Interpreters for onsite contract opportunities during the 2026–2027 school year. These education industry positions support students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in engaging fully in their classroom environments while collaborating with teachers and school staff. Position Details

We are hiring for the following full-time, onsite assignments in Northwest Illinois. Each position is scheduled for approximately 35 hours per week throughout the school year.

  • Hampshire, IL: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program Interpreter supporting a middle school student.

  • Aurora, IL: Interpreter supporting a first-grade student in a special education classroom.

  • Aurora, IL: Interpreter supporting a fourth-grade student in a fully mainstream classroom.

Compensation ranges from $35 to $45 per hour, depending on experience, certification, qualifications, and other applicable factors.

Responsibilities

Provide accurate and effective American Sign Language interpretation during classroom instruction and school-related activities to ensure students have equal access to educational content. Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to support student success while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. Assist with communication between students and school personnel while following district policies and ethical standards for educational interpreting.

Requirements

Candidates must possess an Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) score of 3.5 or higher along with the required Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) certification. Applicants with an EIPA score of 3.0 may also be considered if they have ISBE approval. Previous experience interpreting in educational settings is strongly preferred, along with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a collaborative school team.
