Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Baraboo, Wisconsin

Step into a rewarding opportunity as a full-time Sign Language Interpreter supporting a middle school student. This contract role offers a consistent daytime schedule from 7:40am to 3:30pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week. You'll play a key role in fostering communication, inclusion, and independence for a student who is deaf or hard of hearing, working closely with educational staff in a supportive environment near Baraboo, WI.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Experience providing sign language interpreting services in an educational or school setting is preferred
• National certification or state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter strongly preferred
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and staff
• Professionalism, reliability, and a genuine passion for supporting youth
• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality and student privacy

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary Sign Language Interpreter for a middle school child during classroom instruction and school activities
• Facilitate clear and accurate communication between the student, peers, and school staff
• Adapt interpreting services to match the pace and content of classroom teaching
• Assist with ensuring classroom materials and activities are accessible
• Maintain appropriate documentation as required by the school or district
• Participate in IEP meetings or other student support sessions as necessary
