  • Experience working as a Sign Language Interpreter in educational settings preferred
  • Ability to translate spoken English to ASL and vice versa accurately and effectively
  • Strong understanding of interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and professional standards
  • Collaborative spirit with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility to adapt to a range of classroom environments and student needs

Primary responsibilities:

  • Provide real-time interpretation between students, staff, and teachers in classroom and school activities
  • Ensure that communication is clear, accessible, and tailored to each student’s needs
  • Foster independence by encouraging student engagement and participation
  • Partner with educators to prepare for lessons, assignments, and school events
  • Support an inclusive atmosphere by facilitating understanding throughout the school community
  • Maintain accurate records and adhere to school policies and procedures
