Minimum Qualifications:
- Current license through the Kansas Commission on Deaf/Hard of Hearing
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Prior experience as an educational sign language interpreter preferred
- Ability to work collaboratively in school settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide direct sign language interpretation for a 4th-grade student learning ASL
- Facilitate communication between student, peers, and staff during the school day
- Support the student’s understanding of curriculum, instructions, and classroom activities
- Adapt interpreting methods to individual student needs
- Participate in team meetings to support student progress
