Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students in a school setting as a Sign Language Interpreter. This position begins August 3, 2026, and runs through May 28, 2027, spanning 37.5 hours per week across multiple school locations. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring accessibility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students while working collaboratively with educators and staff to foster an inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

  • Current certification as a Sign Language Interpreter with a score of 3.5 or higher on the EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment).
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiar with interpreting in educational settings.
  • Prior experience interpreting for K-12 students is highly valued.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit to work with teachers, staff, and students.
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and support diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide interpretation between spoken English and American Sign Language for students and staff during classroom instruction and school activities.
  • Facilitate communication during individual, small group, and whole class settings.
  • Support students’ access to curriculum, fostering engagement and understanding.
  • Maintain professionalism and adhere to educational and ethical standards at all times.
  • Collaborate with educational teams to address and support individual student needs.
