Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Beaufort, South Carolina

Positions are available for the 2026-2027 school year with placements across multiple campuses, including high schools and middle schools. You'll enjoy a consistent Monday through Friday schedule, working 37.5 hours per week in a supportive environment dedicated to inclusive education.

Qualifications and Preferred Experience:

• Holds a minimum of 3.5 EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score
• Proficient in American Sign Language and interpreting in educational environments
• Prior experience working with K-12 students preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor
• Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and families
• Commitment to upholding confidentiality and adhering to school policies

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate clear communication between Deaf/hard-of-hearing students and the school community
• Interpret classroom instruction and activities in real time
• Assist in IEP meetings and other school-related functions as assigned
• Adapt interpreting style to meet each student's unique needs and learning environment
• Provide accurate and culturally sensitive interpretation to support student understanding and engagement
• Serve as a bridge between students, peers, and educators, fostering an inclusive environment
