Key Qualifications and Experience:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and interpreting in educational settings
• Previous experience working with DHH students, particularly in a classroom setting
• Strong understanding of interpreting in both academic and related services environments (e.g., occupational therapy, social work)
• Credentialed or nationally certified as an educational interpreter, or on track to certification
• Ability to adapt between DHH classroom and mainstream general education classes
• Professionalism, flexibility, and a collaborative approach with teachers, students, and support staff

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide interpretation for students in a DHH classroom (grades 5-8) throughout the school day
• Accompany students to their mainstream general education classes and ensure seamless communication
• Interpret during related services sessions, including occupational therapy, social work, and other support programs
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, staff, and peers using ASL and other communication methods as appropriate
• Support a positive learning environment where deaf and hard of hearing students can thrive alongside their peers

Working hours align with the school schedule, 8:15 am – 3:00 pm.
