Educational Interpreter - Blaine, WA

Qualifications and preferred experience:

• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Previous experience as a Sign Language Interpreter in schools or educational settings
• Experience teaching or facilitating ASL instruction is highly valued
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to foster trust and engagement
• Certification or licensure for educational interpreting (as applicable)
• Collaborative approach to supporting students and working with school staff
• Reliability and a passion for making a positive difference in students’ daily lives

Role responsibilities:

• Interpret spoken language and classroom content into ASL for students
• Ensure clear, accurate, and confidential communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Provide support during classroom activities, meetings, and school events
• Contribute expertise in ASL instruction as needed
• Adapt interpreting techniques to meet individual student requirements
• Work closely with teachers and support staff to facilitate inclusive learning
