Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Blue Springs, Missouri

This full-time contract position is located near Blue Springs, MO, and offers the rewarding opportunity to work closely with one student at the elementary level. You’ll be a vital resource in ensuring equal access to learning and fostering a supportive environment for academic and social growth within the school day, from 8:30 AM to 3:40 PM.

This assignment requires someone who is adaptable, positive, and compassionate as the student transitions from a deaf school and awaits a potential move. It’s essential to be comfortable with a setting that may be temporary, providing consistent and high-quality interpretation during a period of change.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Valid SLI credentials with a minimum 4.0 EIPA and BEI certification
• Experience working in educational settings or with children strongly preferred
• Flexibility and reliability, able to adapt to evolving student needs
• Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
• Professional, collaborative attitude with school staff and families
